In the latest episode of the podcast “FINTICS – WHERE FINTECH MEETS POLITICS” of the Association of German Lending Platforms, Minister of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism of the State of Baden-Württemberg of the State of Baden-Württemberg, Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, meets Christof Steinbrich, Managing Director of DEBTVISION GmbH, based in Stuttgart. Together, they point out the high level of the startup scene in Baden-Württemberg, the support and initiatives already in place from the state, and the role fintechs play in the corporate finance market.
Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut talks about the state’s efforts to create good framework conditions for start-ups, about the activities of the Start-up BW initiative, and about fintogether, a network of established companies, successful fintechs, and ambitious female founders who want to advance the innovative fintech landscape in Baden-Württemberg.
In Christoph Steinbrich’s view, there is a lot of technical potential in Stuttgart and the surrounding area in the existing ecosystem of companies and in the market for skilled workers. There is an increasing number of people with ideas and technical know-how that are needed for a good fintech location. Both panelists advocate using digitization for more efficient structures and to develop future-proof business models. They emphasize the need to make the best possible use of technologies and to show willingness and curiosity for this. This also includes giving companies access to new financing options.
